Wellbeing Workshops for Schools, Colleges & Universities

Practical Wellbeing Support for Schools, Colleges & Universities

Today's students are navigating increasing levels of academic pressure, stress, anxiety, digital overload and uncertainty about the future.

Through practical, engaging workshops grounded in the Embodied Energy Method™, I help students better understand stress, regulate their nervous systems, build emotional awareness and develop tools they can use both inside and outside the classroom.

Behind every exam result, assignment, classroom interaction and achievement is a person learning how to navigate themselves as well as the world around them.

Stress doesn't only affect how we feel. It can influence concentration, confidence, emotional responses, communication and our ability to think clearly under pressure.

Christine's student wellbeing workshops introduce practical concepts around stress, nervous system regulation, emotional awareness and self-regulation in a way that feels accessible, relatable and relevant to the pressures students face today.

Students are never expected to share personal experiences or disclose anything they don't want to.

Instead, they leave with practical tools they can choose to use when they need them — during exams, periods of pressure, times of change and in everyday life.

Supporting the Person Behind the Student

“When young people learn to understand what’s happening within them, they’re better equipped to navigate what’s happening around them.”

The Embodied Energy Method™

Christine's work is grounded in the Embodied Energy Method™, her practical wellbeing framework designed to help people better understand what is happening within them and develop tools to support greater balance, resilience and self-awareness.

At its heart are five simple stages:

REGULATE — recognising stress and creating greater calm
RELEASE — learning healthier ways to process what we're carrying
RECONNECT — developing greater awareness of ourselves and our needs
REALIGN — making choices that better support our wellbeing
RADIATE — bringing these tools into everyday life

Within schools, colleges and universities, the framework is adapted to suit the age, stage and needs of each student group, with an emphasis on practical wellbeing education, emotional awareness and everyday self-regulation tools.

Sessions are accessible, inclusive and grounded in real life. No previous experience with meditation, mindfulness or wellbeing practices is required.

About Christine Higgins

Christine Higgins is the creator of the Embodied Energy Method™, bringing more than 20 years of professional experience across education, business and corporate environments to her work in wellbeing.

Her background includes working within higher education at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, giving Christine first-hand understanding of the pressures, transitions and expectations students can experience within education.

Today, she combines that professional experience with practical wellbeing education, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, meditation, breathwork and emotional awareness.

Christine's facilitation style is warm, grounded and relatable.

Her aim isn't to tell students how they should feel.

It's to help them better understand how they do feel — and give them practical tools for what to do next.

Student Wellbeing Workshops

Stress, Self-Regulation & Emotional Wellbeing

An engaging and practical wellbeing session designed to help students understand what happens in the body and mind when stress begins to build.

Students explore how to recognise their own signs of overwhelm and learn simple ways to pause, regulate and reset.

Sessions can explore:

  • Understanding the stress response

  • Recognising signs of overwhelm

  • Simple breathing and grounding techniques

  • Emotional awareness

  • Responding rather than reacting

  • Building self-awareness

  • Creating personal reset strategies

  • Knowing when to seek additional support

Students leave with practical techniques they can use during periods of pressure, study, exams and everyday life.

Suitable for: Secondary schools, Transition Year programmes, colleges and universities.

Exam Calm

Practical Tools for Exam Stress & Academic Pressure

Exams, deadlines and academic expectations can place enormous pressure on students.

Exam Calm helps students understand how stress can affect the body, concentration and clear thinking — and, importantly, what they can do when they notice that pressure building.

The session can be adapted for students preparing for the Junior Cycle, Leaving Certificate, mock examinations, college or university exams and other periods of increased academic pressure.

Students learn:

  • What happens when the body enters a stress response

  • How stress can affect concentration and clear thinking

  • Simple breathing techniques for calming the body

  • Grounding techniques for before or during an exam

  • How to interrupt spiralling thoughts

  • Practical ways to reset when overwhelmed

  • How to create a personal pre-exam routine

The aim isn't to eliminate nerves.

It's to help students feel better equipped to work with them.

The Student Transition Reset

Navigating Change, Independence & University Life

Starting college or university can be exciting — but it can also bring a huge amount of change.

New environments, increased independence, academic pressure, changing friendships and expectations can leave students feeling overwhelmed while they're still trying to find their feet.

The Student Transition Reset is a practical wellbeing workshop designed to help students better understand themselves during periods of change and develop tools to navigate university life with greater awareness, confidence and resilience.

Students explore:

  • Managing change and uncertainty

  • Recognising stress and overwhelm

  • Nervous system regulation and grounding techniques

  • Navigating increased independence and responsibility

  • Creating healthy boundaries

  • Managing academic and social pressure

  • Building self-awareness and emotional regulation

  • Developing personal reset strategies

  • Knowing when and how to seek additional support

The aim isn't to tell students how university life should look.

It's to give them practical tools to navigate the transition in a way that works for them.

Ideal for: First-year students, orientation programmes, student wellbeing weeks and transition-to-university initiatives.
